How many times when the topic of weight loss comes up that the word "metabolism" soon follows?
Seems as though every time you want to talk about what to eat, when to eat, how to eat or anything else associated with diet, someone drops the "M" word and then the discussion begins on exactly how to help speed up your metabolism, which in turn leads to weight loss.
Weight loss and metabolism are truly connected, and that debate isn't to be questioned. Rather, when you hear the general public or even someone of a professional ilk like a personal trainer talk about metabolism, do you often wonder if they really know about it or if it is like anything else: they go by what they hear.
Is metabolism and breakfast really linked together? Does metabolism that is slow make it impossible to lose weigh or is a speedy metabolism overrated?
All of these question beg answer, but what you need to know more than anything is what metabolism truly is a measure of: turning what you eat into energy and how efficiently you can burn off calories and not store fat.
