Socially acceptable: socialcon scores big by giving online fans what they want

You'll all heard about Comic Con, the iconic and lauded fan event conventions that bring lovers of comic books, super heroes and everything in between together to revel in the brilliance and exhilaration of the event.
Now, say hello to socialcon, an equally remarkable event heading to the Donald E. Convention Center on Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24th in Chicago. Scheduled to appear this new, marquee event is Nash Grier, Hayes Grier, Cameron Dallas and Carter Reynolds, along with a slew of other social media moguls.
Coupled with a loaded lineup of social media celebrities whose fan base exceeds 100 million users and palpable, fervor centering on the event makes socialcon quite the must see convention courtesy of Wizard World, Inc. Not only is Wizard World, Inc. putting together socialcon in Chicago this weekend, but it's renowned for its efforts on other various conventions produced nationally.
Coincidentally, Wizard World, Inc. is running its Chicago Comic Con, one of the bigger ones of the calendar year, from August 21 to the 24th, at the same venue with separate admission for the socialcon.
socialcon seems like such a natural fit when it comes to larger scale conventions and gatherings given the breakout popularity of celebrities who cut their teeth in the social media sector. The number of social media sites has exploded in recent years, whether you're talking about talented individuals sprouting up on YouTube or becoming instant sensations on Twitter or Facebook.

It's only natural that an event be put together that celebrates those successes and allows fans the kind of interaction and candor they're craving.
"We are excited to bring stars with a combined 10s of millions of followers to one place so that thousands of fans with whom they have interacted can meet them up close and personal," said John Macaluso, Wizard World CEO.
Macaluso continues "Several have appeared at our Wizard World Comic Cons and have been huge hits, so creating socialcon, a series of events highlighting social media stars, is a natural addition."
Kudos to Wizard World, Inc. for putting together socialcon and tapping into a market (online) that is growing by leaps and bounds. Socialcon is an extension of what Comic Con conventions stand for: bringing together fans and celebrities alike for the kind of interaction that is equal parts epic and unforgettable, making a trip to socialcon the kind of gift a granddaughter or daughter would absolutely love and remember always.
Tickets for the event can be purchased here, and general admission receive all day access with check in at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 23 and 10 a.m. Sunday, August 24. More information and a complete guest lineup can be found at www.socialcon.com.
Some might say socialcon has big shoes to fill in the wake of what the Comic Con name and brand in any form has done nationally. Simply put, the premise and poignancy behind socialcon is a bona fide winner, and that fact won't be lost this weekend in Chicago.
