When you are a professional business man or a writer of literature, then you know there is no better experience for conveying your thoughts and dictations than getting them on paper with the perfect tool. The Cross Pen has been synonymous with high fashion writing instruments for years, and their elegant brand began years ago. All the way back to the middle of the nineteenth century, this company began manufacturing the finest of writing instruments. In 1846, the A. T. Cross Company began manufacturing gold and silver casings for wooden pencils. This Providence, Rhode Island, facility registered a couple of dozen patents and began the trend setting that would establish them as the premier company in the writing industry. Their next real breakthrough came long before their ball points as the mechanical pencil was designed to push the lead out by increments for allowing the sharpener to become obsolete. In fact, the mechanical pencil beat the ball point to the market by some seven decades. Cross is still renown as the prince of the premium pen.
