Euphemistic language is nothing unordinary in the world of men's fashion or clothing in general.
That marketing mentality simply takes the ordinary and makes them extraordinary just by shuffling a few words around or adding ones to sound pseudo-important.
For example, items aren't cheap; they're "modestly priced." Another favorite word in the world of men's clothing is "vintage." Probably one of the most overused, albeit underappreciated, words in fashion, "vintage" signifies more of a mindset than an actual material per say.
Visit any downtown of pretty much any city and you'll see a store that touts itself as "vintage." It's hard to say for certain what comprises clothing that is deemed vintage. One could argue that vintage means old or clothing and accessories that hark back to a day of the 60s or 70s.
"Vintage" also could mean shirts that pay tribute to a time long ago in the form of T-shirts featuring the likes of the famous Farrah Fawcett poster, a laundry list of Chuck Norris Quotes or niche markets such as the world of professional wrestling.

So a Hulk Hogan or Randy Savage T-shirt equals vintage? Yes, pretty much. It's hard to refer to clothing from the 80s and 90s at vintage but both decades are endearing to those who lived through them as kids and young adults. Typically, a consumer will define "vintage" men's clothing as really any decade they hold near and dear to their heart; some would call it their "heyday" or products and clothing for men that remind them of their youth.
Some use the term vintage as far as men's fashion goes for articles of clothing that are cut a specific way or sport a softer cotton-polyester mix.
Big-time brand names like American Eagle market polos and T-shirts as having a vintage fit to them, meaning sizes run small and they're meant to fit tighter.
The inclusion of modern stores like American Eagle show that vintage doesn't necessarily have to be old but rather can reflect a higher-end retailer who choose to use the word to push products that typically are designed a certain way.
Trying to determine exactly what vintage is truly is in the eye of the beholder. More often than not, a past era or trend that once reigned supreme and is making the proverbial comeback or is hard to find is the centerpiece of the vintage model.
That's the great thing about men's fashion as it relates to vintage. An article of clothing that you hold near and dear to your heart, a soft, loveable T-shirt from your favorite year or perhaps a hand-me-down from one generation to the next can be defined at vintage and, in turn, invaluable to the consumer.
