There is a company named Roots, and it is not the organization that led Alex Haley to write a book, but rather an organization that began with one idea and some major ambition. This company was developed by a couple of guys back in 1973 that had a passion for the wilderness in the Algonquin Park of Ontario, Canada. Those of you that are familiar with Ontario realize that this is a vast Canadian Province, and in fact, this is the only province that borders all five United States' Great Lakes. These guys developed this company because of their passion for the outdoors and the athletics played in this environment, and they decided to provide a unique line of leather apparel that would promote both the active lifestyle and the respect for the outdoor environment. They began with some great shoes for hiking around in the country whether there was snow on the ground or not, and they began to add accessories, and jackets to go with their shoes and leather bags. This company has grown in the last three and a half decades to be a globally recognized brand, but this organization will never forget its Roots.
