Sometimes there seems to be folks that end up in business because they were born into it, and at Steve's Blinds and Wallpaper, this was certainly the case. This young man was destined to revolutionize the blinds and wallpaper business from the time he was ten years old back in 1950. His dad and grandfather had a tile business in the Detroit, Michigan area where he began working after school and on the weekends. It didn't take him the next twelve years of his life to learn about tremendous customer service, quality products, and good prices to figure out how to run a business, and by 1986, the family tile business expanded to Illinois and dabbled with a mail order catalog business that sold blinds and wallpaper. A short seven years later, the tile business had thirty store fronts, and the catalog business was processing three hundred thousand orders a year. By 1999, the mail order business went on the internet and became the largest company online for special order blinds and wallpaper after doubling in size. The showroom that Steve's Blinds and Wallpaper showcases has over five hundred books of wallpaper and three hundred different blinds.
